What is Red Nose Day USA?
Comic Relief launched in the United Kingdom with the goal of using comedy to raise money and help those leading tough lives. The vision? Creating a just world free from poverty. The movement continues to grow with every fundraiser held, TV special aired, partner enlisted, and Red Nose sold. Globally, Red Nose Day has raised over $1 billion since its launch in the U.K. in 1988.
The focus in 2018 will be ending childhood poverty in the US and worldwide. It is also in the same month as the Royal Wedding of HRH Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. In celebration of the two events, Britevents Northwest has organized three things - donation drives, an auction, and a way to donate as a Brit or anyone from anywhere. Take a look below!
Promote Event - Harry and Meghan's Donation Drives
Attend Event - A Right Royal Britquiz and Auction (Sat May 19th)
We are having a very special edition of our popular quiz on the day of the Royal Wedding. An evening of fun and prizes not just for winning the quiz, but also for "Best dressed toff", "Best wedding card message", and Family jewels auction to raise funds for Red Nose Day. Click the icon for full event details.
Donate Event - Seattle Brit Red Nose Donation Site (Now until May 31st)
If you are not able to get to a Red Nose Day event, then Britevents Northwest has set up a page at the Red Nose USA website where you can donate. You may also be eligible for a matching donation from your employer. Check it out by clicking the Fund Raiser icon above. Thanks for your contribution!
An appeal from Lenny Henry and Richard Curtis to Brits in the USA
If you’re a Brit living in America, you need no introduction to Comic Relief’s co-founders Richard Curtis and Lenny Henry. These old friends want you to know that, just like you, Comic Relief has crossed the pond as well. Take your longing for Ol’ Blighty and transform it into fundraising magic for Red Nose Day USA this year
